The Prayer for Ignition

Kait’s Prayer/ Female Version: “God IGNITE the heart of the man that is for me. That that man would pursue me through the Good, Bad and ugly”
JJ’s prayer/ Male Version: “Lord, I want my heart to be ignited for the woman you have for me.”

This comes from the Song of Solomon uses this phrase three separate times .. “do not awaken love until it’s time”

Well, what does this mean? How does it apply? There are a couple takeaways biblically speaking.

In terms of being in a relationship, this is intended to speak for 1) Love progressing and growing until it is matured and fruitful, versus moving too fast. 2) And lovemaking, let lovemaking continued until we are both filled.

A warning - that love is so scared it must not be played with, it stirs and awakens on its own. If stirred too early, it is capable of great damage.
Having just read about the passions and pleasures of marriage, the reader might be tempted more than ever to desire and force such a relationship in impatience.

When a guy is showing you he is half in half out

Its likely because his heart is NOT ignited. That is NOT because you are not worthy or wonderful. It’s because he may just not be the best guy for you. OR- this is not the timing and that is okay.

What can MEN do to help their hearts BE ignited?

There are some men where their ignition is cue’d to the WRONG things (AKA not the things of Jesus).
Hyper focus on physical and personality leads to ignorance of orange and red flags and minimize and justify character concerns or deprioritize spiritual conversations and curiousity especially if we know she is likely not there then take on a savior mentality, maybe i can lead her. Don’t do this. We want someone who is running at the same PACE who challenges us.
Men, we need more than ever to have the blinders on for woman who are not what we desire in a wife and a mission to date women who are on mission.

The Prayer Both Men and Women Can Pray

Then we pray “God.. Father.. Help me… still the waters of romantic love in my life until it is time, satisfy me O Lord in singleness.. Do not stir love until it is the right time for the one you have for me.. When the time comes, make it clear amongst my community, board of advisors and spirit.. In the meantime, give me wisdom to date well, to honor my fellow women and to choose well.”
